After three years of working and some changes in the line-up, TOXIC establishes as a band in 2001, joining the scene of the Colombian trash-death metal, through the recording of two songs in a metal compilation known as NoisePack, presented together with other Colombian bands.
The band features Carlos Altuzarra and Juan Carlos Bravo on the guitars. Gomer Ramirez on the drums, Mauricio Peña on the bass and Daniel Saldaña as the front-man. They have played many times sharing the stage with other national bands.
Among these presentations, it is important to highlight the rock festivals Hyntiba 2002 and ?rock al parque? 2001 and 2002. By the end of 2002, TOXIC launched its first independent album, titled Sick of Silence. It includes six tracks characterized by their trash-death style, and played by different local radio stations awakening the interest of specialized critics.
