Umzac is a Colombian gothic metal band that also has influences from progressive rock, opera, classical music, and various styles of metal, fused with traditional Colombian rhythms, much of them from the Andean region. Preserving in this way the Colombian music when making metal.

Within its lyrics can be found chronicles of indigenous people from pre-Columbian times, which is why Umzac means Darkness in the Chibcha language.

This group offers a very original proposal with the idea of evolving the Colombian metal field, keeping in mind an international market.

Influenced by Dream Theather, Epica, After Forever, Umzac was created with the idea of developing a new musical movement in Colombia, without discriminating different styles of metal and respecting the varied tastes of its members.

Umzac is currently working on his first full-length CD.
